Little Matthew Hayes started running a low-grade fever and had more than his share of bruises on his legs. After tests, at just two and a half years old, Matthew was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
Matthew learned to tell time because his chemo meds had to be given on an empty stomach, and then he had to wait an hour before he could eat. He endured 38 months of treatment.
Matthew is now a healthy, happy nine-year-old. He loves school, playing with his friends and has a green belt in Karate. He and his family have participated in many Light The Night®Walks.
